Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks in 1:48 scale that replaces decals with sprayed markings. According to the name it contains masks for the national crosses, for the tactical numbers and for the spiral of the propeller spinner of one particular machine marked with a white number five. Sprayed markings have no glossy carrier film, they merge with the surface and cannot be told apart from the real paintwork, which you will appreciate above all on matte late-war camouflage.
The Bf 109K-4 was the last series-built version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. It was powered by a Daimler-Benz DB 605D engine, the aircraft had a taller rudder, a frameless sliding canopy and reworked landing gear covers. The armament consisted of a cannon firing through the propeller hub, complemented by a pair of synchronized guns above the engine. The colored spiral on the propeller spinner was a striking recognition feature on late Messerschmitts, and it is precisely that which is among the most difficult elements of the whole finish.
The masks are transferred onto an already painted surface evened out with varnish, pressed down carefully all around and oversprayed. Apply the paint in several thin coats so that no ridge forms. Remove the mask while the paint is still fresh, as the edges then stay crisp. The spiral on the spinner is best handled in sections.
