A dipping ink from Green Stuff World in a 60 ml package. The green shade and the name referring to shark skin are aimed at organic surfaces - scales, folds of skin, webbing, fins. It is worked with over an area: a generous coat over the whole part and removal of the excess from the peaks.
A scaled area is the best illustration of what a dipping ink is good for. Every scale has a raised center and a groove runs between neighboring scales - and that is exactly where the ink draws together and gathers once applied. A network of darker lines following the real relief arises, while the tops of the scales stay lighter. By hand it would mean outlining every single scale, and with a wash too. Here the shape of the casting decides and you only take off what was left over.
