A dipping ink in a gray green register, that is at the muted end of the green family. It is applied generously, runs into the recesses and engraved lines by itself and darkens the shadow there, while elsewhere it leaves behind only a faint veil of color. The package holds 17 ml.

A green that takes away the garishness

The gray content in this shade does the exact opposite of a saturated green. Over a bright green area it mutes the saturation and shifts the whole toward an earthier, animal register, so the color stops looking artificial. Over a neutral gray it adds just enough green for the surface to gain an organic character. Over an olive or khaki base it deepens the shadow and keeps the whole in a muted military palette. Over a light blue green it creates the impression of a scaly or leathery texture, which is after all what the name of the shade refers to. Over a dark color mainly the drawing of the shadow is left.

Use

• Stir the contents of the bottle before applying.
• Apply generously, so that the paint runs into all the recesses and scales.
• A garish green is muted by a single dipping; a deeper effect comes from repeating it.
• Take the excess off smooth areas with a clean brush.
• Try the tone in a hidden place.
