A double-sided mask set for the AV-8B Harrier II aircraft in 1:18, shaped for the Hobby Boss kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A mask set for a model of the AV-8B Harrier II aircraft in 1:18. The individual pieces are shaped for the particular Hobby Boss kit, so the laborious cutting of strips from tape and watching for straight edges falls away. The set is double-sided: besides the outer masks it holds pieces for the inner side of the glazing, thanks to which the cockpit framing stays visually clean when seen from inside as well.
The AV-8B Harrier II is an attack aircraft with short takeoff and vertical landing, which can be operated from a deck and from improvised surfaces away from an airfield as well. In 1:18 the model comes out at display case size, where the cockpit glazing is a conspicuous feature and an imprecisely masked frame catches the eye more than it would in small scales.
Apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing before spraying. Work one piece at a time, press the edges down and only then move on to the next. Lay the paint on in thin coats so that it does not creep under the edge. After spraying, take the masks off carefully while the paint is only touch dry; the edge cuts less cleanly through a fully cured layer.
It suits anyone who is building a large model of the Harrier and wants sharp transitions on the cockpit framing without hand cutting. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
