A set of cut painting masks of kabuki paper from the brand New Ware, in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and not an accessory part but an aid for painting: the masks copy the shapes of the glazing and of the other areas that are meant to stay clean on a model of the helicopter. The marking of the basic extent sets this set apart from the more broadly conceived version for more demanding builders.
The Mil Mi-4 was given the NATO reporting name Hound and it was a Soviet piston-engined helicopter with a cargo compartment and rear clamshell doors, strikingly similar in layout to the American H-19. The Mi-4AV version is an armed attack conversion with pylons for rocket pods and other stores, which turned a transport machine into one of the first true attack helicopters of the Eastern Bloc. The Mi-4 served from the 1950s in the Soviet Union and in friendly armies and to this day it is among the favorite modeling subjects.
It will be appreciated by modelers who build helicopters in 1:48 scale and do not want to lose time cutting tape by hand around the windows. Sharp boundaries of the finish on the glazing are, after all, the first thing anyone notices on a finished model.
