A resin set of the Brassin line from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, which replaces the ejection seats in the cockpit of a model of the Panavia Tornado in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the airplane but a detail accessory. The difference is visible at once: a casting holds the sharp edges of the padding, the handles and the small elements of the mechanism that do not fit into an injection mold, and in an open cockpit the seat is the first thing everyone looks at.
The Tornado is a combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed by the international Panavia consortium and introduced from the 1970s in Germany, Italy and Great Britain. The cockpit is a two-seater in tandem layout, with the pilot in front and the weapons systems officer behind him, and it is fitted with Martin-Baker Mk.10 series ejection seats. The set is therefore listed in the plural and is intended for both crew stations.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release residue stays on the surface and the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, level the area with a file and sand wet, with respiratory protection. Bonding is done with super glue. Paint the seat separately from the cockpit, bring out the contrast between the padding and the frame with a dark wash and a fine dry brush, and only then fit the finished assembly into the fuselage.
