The abbreviation sWS belongs to a German heavy half-track tractor from the later part of the Second World War, in full schwerer Wehrmachtsschlepper. It was to replace the earlier half-track tractors, which were harder to produce, with a simpler and cheaper machine. Like every half-track it has a steering wheeled axle at the front and tracked running gear at the rear that transmits the pull. Alongside the tractor with a cargo bed, armored versions were built as well, so the same chassis appears on models in several very different forms.
Fit the wheels to a finished chassis, once the position of the suspension can no longer change. On a half-track, check in advance which part of the running gear the parts belong to, because the front axle and the rear tracked running gear have different wheels. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder so that the mating surfaces meet. The material of the parts and the recommended glue are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting, because paint does not hold on a greasy surface.
Wheels are easiest to paint away from the model, pushed onto a stick or held on double-sided tape. Apply the base shade of the vehicle and only then separate the painting of the metal parts from the tire bands or the tires, depending on which parts the set holds. Finally add dust and mud to match the setting you place the model in.
