This is an accessory for a model, not a model of an airplane: a canopy, that is the cover of the pilot's compartment, for the two-seat MiG-29UB in 1:72 scale from the Geronimo72Art brand. Against the single-seat MiG-29 the two-seat version has longer glazing and a differently divided canopy, so the part from a single-seat kit does not fit it. The material and the form of the set are given on its packaging.
The MiG-29UB is the two-seat combat trainer variant of the MiG-29 fighter. The second cabin came at the cost of the radar, which no longer fitted into the narrowed nose, so the machine serves above all for training pilots and keeping their skills up. The instructor sits higher at the back and has a periscope for landing. The basic MiG-29 arose as a lighter counterpart to the heavy Su-27, it first flew in 1977 and in the 1990s it spread to dozens of air forces including European ones. Two-seat machines often carried striking training and anniversary schemes.
Before painting, compare the shape of the part dry with the fuselage of the model; on two-seat versions the transition behind the second cabin tends to be the most sensitive place. Finish and paint the interior of both cabins before you fit the canopy. Mask the frames with strips of masking and spray them first with the shade of the interior, and only then with the outer color.
