This item is not a tank kit but a decal sheet in 1:35 scale from the Hungarian maker HAD models. It holds markings for Leopard 2A4HU tanks in service with the Hungarian army and is intended to complete a finished plastic Leopard 2A4 kit in the same scale. The particular number of marking options and the extent of the lettering are stated on the box of the sheet.
The Leopard 2A4 is the most widespread of the older production versions of the German main battle tank, recognizable above all by its angular turret with flat faces. Hungary took these vehicles on as a complement to its newer Leopard 2A7HUs and uses them mainly for crew training and for keeping its tank units combat ready. Vehicles in Hungarian service carry their own tactical numbers, national insignia and unit symbols, which are not repeated by the German or any other operators - and it is precisely because of them that it makes sense to reach for a specialized sheet instead of the decals from the box.
Decals are applied onto a smooth glossy surface; matte or rough paint underneath will cause silvering of the edges. Cut the sheet as close to the subject as possible, soak it briefly and carry it to its place together with the backing paper. On broken-up surfaces such as tool boxes or side skirts, a decal softener and light pressure with a cotton swab will help. Once dry, spray the whole vehicle with matte varnish, which will reliably hide the edges of the sheet, and only then add dust and dusting.
