GSX R750 Red

The color

This red from the Number 5 line is named after the Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle. The line is kept by individual machines, so a builder takes a tone in the spirit of the real subject straight away and does not have to mix it. The shade aims at the bodywork and the tank of motorcycle models, but it will also serve on the red surfaces of other models.

Red and what it asks for

Red is among the worst covering shades. Over a dark ground it turns brown, and over bare plastic it stays uneven. It builds up best on a light gray or white ground, where it keeps its brightness. The bodywork parts are moreover small and a builder holds them in hand, so it is advisable to put them on a stick and paint them separately. Apply thin coats, as depth comes from their number rather than from one generous coat, which would fill the fine edges of the parts.

Painting tips

• Wash and degrease the parts and let them dry thoroughly.
• Stir the paint before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom of the bottle.
• Paint the bodywork and the tank separately from the frame, so you can reach everywhere.
• Depth comes from the number of thin coats.
• Apply gloss varnish only onto fully cured paint.

Terms of supply

The paint is supplied as described. The model, a primer, thinner, a top varnish and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. For thinning, cleaning tools and drying time, go by the manufacturer's details on the packaging. Work in a ventilated room and store the bottle carefully closed out of the reach of children.
