The Douglas A-1H Skyraider is an American single-seat carrier ground-attack aircraft with a piston radial engine. It entered service only after the Second World War and, at a time when jets were multiplying around it, it kept its place by what the jets could not do: it could stay over the target considerably longer and carry a larger load of armament under its wings than the jets of the day. In the large 1:32 scale its roomy cockpit under the sliding canopy is visible through the glazing into every corner.
Color cockpit interior elements for 1:32 scale from the Quinta brand. They are printed, they have a raised relief and they are seated directly on the kit parts, so they replace hand painting of the instruments and the side panels. They are applied like a decal: the part is cut out, soaked briefly in lukewarm water and slid off the paper into place; do not use a decal softener with them. They have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss varnish. The extent of the set and the placing of the individual elements are stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
The surface must be smooth, clean and coated with a gloss varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type; on matte paint the element will not hold. Separate the part with a scalpel and after soaking carry it with tweezers. Slide it on by one edge first, align it with the edges of the part and only then press it gently with a cotton bud from the center outwards, so that no air stays underneath; in broken-up places a drop of cyanoacrylate glue will help. Finish the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together, because later you will not get into the cockpit.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
