Decals for a pair of B-25 Mitchell bombers in 1:32 scale, one in the J version and the other in the H attack version with a heavy cannon.
Responsibility details are not available.
During the war the North American B-25 handled roles that at first glance had nothing to do with one another. The J version had a glazed nose with a navigator and a bombardier, whereas the H version carried, instead of glazing, a solid nose packed with machine guns and a 75 mm cannon, which was used against shipping and fortified targets. The sheet offers exactly this pair, so during the build you choose between a classic bomber and what was literally a flying gun carriage.
One set of markings belongs to a machine named Barbie III, which in 1944 flew over Burma and China. The other covers a surviving machine of the J series in the form in which it still flies at air shows today, so it also suits modelers who like building present-day warbirds.
In a larger scale the designs tend to be big and sensitive to unevenness, so it pays to level the seams beforehand where the lettering will run. A gloss layer of varnish under the decal is a necessity. Once it is seated, let everything dry thoroughly and only then reach for the unifying matte overcoat.
Anyone who wants to make the work easier still can print out an enlarged placement diagram in advance and try the order of laying the decals down on it dry. On twin-engined machines it often happens that one large design has to run across the seam of an engine nacelle, and if you discover that with a soaked decal in your hand it is usually too late. A little planning saves a lot of nerves here.
