1:32 BAe Harrier GR.3, GR.7, GR.9 Seat belts completes the cockpit of the British vertical take-off aircraft with a safety harness in the large 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to its name the set covers three British versions of the vertical take-off aircraft at once, that is, the GR.3, GR.7 and GR.9. It is fitted onto the seat of a model under construction in the large 1:32 scale and brings into the cockpit a detail that mostly does not come with the kit.
The GR.3 was the peak of the first generation of the Harrier: the Pegasus engine, a distinctive rounded nose with a rangefinder and an essential role in the Falklands War in 1982, where the machines operated from improvised strips. The GR.7 already belongs to the second generation, built on the American basis of the Harrier II, with a larger wing of composites and with equipment for night attack. The GR.9 was the closing modernization of this line and British service of the Harriers ended in 2010. The seat is visible in the cockpit on all three, because the pilot's station is set high and the canopy has excellent all-round visibility.
With a vertical take-off aircraft the model is often built with the nozzles deflected and the canopy slid back, so the cockpit is seen from immediate proximity. Fit the harness, therefore, only onto a seat that is finished including the shading and the wear. Let the loose ends of the straps drop over the side of the seat pan out of the cockpit, as they really did hang that way on a parked machine. I recommend dealing with the buckles only at the very end, with a fine accentuation, so that they keep their metallic impression.
