A decal sheet in 1:32 scale for the Bell AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter, focused on the markings of the 20th Aerial Rocket Artillery. It is the first part of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bell AH-1G Cobra was the first attack helicopter to reach production in the US Army. It differed from transport machines at first glance: a narrow fuselage, the crew seated one behind the other, skids instead of wheels, and stub wings on which the armament was carried.
This decal set in 1:32 scale is devoted to the AH-1G machines of the 20th Aerial Rocket Artillery and is designated as the first part. The extent of the markings and the number of variants follow the instructions supplied with the sheet; go through them before you start painting so that you know where each marking goes and what has to be sprayed underneath it.
With decal sheets the usual procedure is the wet one. Cut the element out together with its backing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it slides freely off the paper. The surface should be smooth and glossy, otherwise a milky haze will appear under the film. Blot a settled decal with absorbent paper, help it along with a decal softener on broken-up surfaces, and varnish the whole over once dry.
Before you wet the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is an adhesive version. Wetted adhesive film is ruined for good, whereas an unwetted waterslide decal can still be soaked later.
It suits a modeler who is building a large AH-1G kit and wants to give it markings other than those in the box. The model, paints, varnish and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
