This item is a stand-alone decal sheet for a model of the AH-1G Cobra attack helicopter in 1:32 scale, not a kit and not accessory parts. Art Scale issues decals for this type part by part, and this one carries the running number eight; it follows on from part seven, which is listed under the same unit designation. The letter designation HML-367 belongs to a Marine Corps unit nicknamed Scarface. Check the list of machines on the sheet on the packaging of the set.
The basis is a smooth glossy surface. Varnish the painted model with gloss varnish and let it cure until it is completely dry, or air will be trapped under the film and the decal will silver. Cut the motif out close to the printing, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and let it rest on a towel until it starts to slide freely on the backing. Set it in position on the model, press the water out with a soft brush from the center to the edges and draw off the remaining moisture. On engraved lines and raised detail use a decal softener step by step, from weaker to stronger, and do not touch the decal until it is dry. At the end, unify the whole surface with matte or semi-gloss varnish.
The AH-1G Cobra came about as a specialized attack helicopter using the powerplant and rotor head of the Huey line. A narrow fuselage with two crew positions in tandem reduced the frontal area, a rotating chin turret made it possible to aim independently of the direction of flight, and short wings carried hardpoints. The design layout proved itself so well that it was the starting point for later generations of the type.
