A masking set for the Messerschmitt Bf-109 G-10 model in 1:32 scale, cut for Hasegawa kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was the most numerously built German fighter aircraft of the Second World War, and the G-10 version belongs among its late variants from the last year of the fighting. It differs from the older machines in a modified cowling over the front part of the fuselage and in a series of small details which can be shown clearly on a model in 1:32 scale.
The set contains masks cut to the shape of the parts of the Hasegawa kit in 1:32 scale. It saves you cutting shapes out of adhesive tape, which is tedious and seldom comes out accurate. The manufacturer's instructions give the extent of the coverage and the recommended order of steps, so go through them before you reach for the airbrush. The masks suit a modeler who sprays with a brush too; the paint just has to be applied more carefully.
The masks are applied before spraying, not after. The surface must be clean, degreased and the paint under the mask perfectly dry. Press the mask down around its whole perimeter so that paint does not run under the edge, and spray in thin coats; a heavy coat always runs under. Lift the mask off with tweezers at a sharp angle before the paint has fully cured, otherwise it may take a piece of the finish with it.
It suits anyone who wants sharp color transitions without laborious cutting of tape, and especially someone building in a large scale, where every imprecise edge shows. It saves time above all on two-color and intricate finishes. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
