The set is not a model of the aircraft, it is a single accessory to a plastic model of the Bf 109 in the F or G version.
What the corrected shape means
On the Bf 109 the propeller spinner is a feature prominent in shape, and it determines the character of the nose. When a kit has a spinner that is too rounded, too pointed or too short, it is visible on the finished model at first glance, and a plastic part can be sanded only with difficulty. A resin replacement solves the shape outright and tends to be cast in one piece, so the parting line and the gluing of halves fall away.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was a single-engine fighter aircraft with an inverted V12 liquid-cooled engine. The F and G versions differed from the older configurations in an aerodynamically cleaner nose, a modified wing and a different cowling of the power plant. The front propeller spinner went through several changes of shape during production, which differ between the individual production series.
First wash the part in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent, so that the remains of the mold release agent are removed. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, not with nippers. Level the cut surface with a file and sanding paper wet and work with respiratory protection, because resin dust is fine. It is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before painting, apply a primer, otherwise the paint holds badly on smooth resin. The spinner is often painted with a spiral or with a prominent recognition band, so let the base dry perfectly and take the masks off soon after applying the next coat. Check the hole for the propeller shaft and if need be drill it out carefully, so that the propeller seats on the axis.
