A replacement pilot's seat in cast resin for models of the Bf 109 in the F, G and K versions in 1:32 scale. The casting captures the version in pressed wooden material, which was used on later machines instead of a metal shell. This is an accessory to a build; the package does not hold the model of the aircraft itself.
The Bf 109 was a single-engine fighter with a liquid-cooled V engine, produced in many versions. The internal equipment of the cockpit was simplified over the course of production and parts originally of metal were replaced with pressed wooden ones. A seat of this type therefore has a different surface and coloring from a metal one, and on a model in a large scale the difference is clearly apparent.
After cutting the casting block off and washing free of mold release agent, apply a primer. The wooden look is built up in layers: a thin glaze of a darker shade is applied over a lighter base and can be drawn out with a brush or the edge of a sponge in the direction of the grain. Oil paints give the longest working time for this technique. Add the belts and the metal detail only after drying. Glue the seat in with superglue, but first verify dry that it sits on the frame and does not collide with the side walls of the cockpit.
This is an accessory to a build, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
