1:32 Bristol Mercury is a detailing engine for aircraft models in 1:32 scale, specifically the British Mercury radial nine.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for builders of prewar British machines who want to open the engine cowling and show what is underneath. This is a power unit for detailing a model, not a kit of an aircraft.
The Mercury is an air-cooled nine-cylinder radial of the British marque Bristol, developed in the interwar years and produced in many versions right up to the Second World War. In the later renditions its output exceeded eight hundred horsepower. It powered a range of well known types: the Gloster Gladiator fighter biplane, the twin-engine Bristol Blenheim bomber, the Westland Lysander liaison and observation machine and the Polish PZL P.11 high-wing fighter. Besides that the engine was built under license in several European countries, so you will meet it even on machines that at first glance have nothing to do with Britain.
The engine stands out only when it is seen, so count on an open or partly stripped cowling. Accentuate the cylinders and their cooling fins with a dry brush, darken the exhaust stubs and add a rusty tinge. The believability is raised a great deal by leads to the spark plugs suggested with thin wire. Try the fit into the fuselage dry beforehand, so that you know how much room is left to you.
