The pair of sheets with machine-cut shapes deals with the two places where an otherwise successful build most often founders: the dividing frames of the hinged canopy and the division between rim and tire. The set is cut for the Italeri 2506 kit, because it is precisely the outline of its pane that decides where each shape falls.
The F-35A has a canopy almost without frames, so its clear area is strikingly large and every uneven edge of paint on it catches the eye. All the more does it pay to have the outlines cut by machine. The wheel rims then call for a precise circle, which is hard to draw freehand, especially on the nose landing gear.
First rid the pane of fingerprints and grease, seat the shapes with tweezers and press the edges down with a blunt stick. It works well to spray a thin layer of the interior color first, then the covering shade and finally the exterior finish - the transition then stays clean even when seen from inside the cockpit. Take the stencils off while the finish is merely set. Keep the leftover pieces of tape; they come in useful for covering the landing gear bays.
