It replaces the wheels from a plastic kit with castings that have a sharper tire tread pattern and finer hub detail. The name of the set specifies the version with an eight-spoke nose wheel, so compare the look of the wheels with the aircraft you are building before you buy. It is an accessory, not an aircraft kit — the base model has to be to hand.
The B-24 Liberator was an American four-engine heavy bomber with a high-mounted Davis wing, twin vertical tails on the D to J series versions and nosewheel landing gear. It was built in great numbers and served in the bomber, transport and maritime patrol roles. The bulky main wheels and the nose wheel are clearly visible on a finished model, because the model stands on the ground and the landing gear is at the viewer's eye level.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the remains of the mold release agent — without that the paint holds poorly. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and sand the contact face flat, otherwise the model will not stand square. It is glued with super glue; do not breathe in the resin dust, and sand wet or with respiratory protection. Do not paint the tires pure black, as a dark gray with a hint of brown looks more convincing. Spray the hubs separately and mask the transition; a final fine dust wash brings out both the tread and the grooves.
This is an add-on resin set, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
