In a large scale the riveting is seen from close up and every irregularity in a row catches the eye. Punching by hand with a wheel calls for a steady hand, and on rounded surfaces the row easily runs away. This sheet carries finished rows of raised rivets at a constant spacing that transfer onto the model in one piece.
The rivets are arranged in double parallel rows and the dimensions match 1:32 scale: the rivet diameter is 0.20 mm and the gap 0.8 mm, so roughly twice the values meant for the small scales. The print is black. The total length of the rows on the sheet is 5.8 meters, which matches the stated 19 feet.
These are wet decals. Coat the surface with gloss varnish first, otherwise silvering will appear under the row. Cut out the section you need, dip it in lukewarm water for a moment and let it stand until the print starts to move. Apply a longer straight section in one go, as a join tends to show even after varnishing. On curves use a decal softener, and varnish the whole area once it is dry.
It suits builders of large models who restore riveting wiped away by sanding joints, or who add detail on smooth surfaces. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
