About product

Douglas A-26B Invader wheels 1:32 (Eduard)

This is a resin detail wheel set, not an aircraft model. It contains precisely cast main wheels for models of the American Douglas A-26 Invader attack aircraft in 1:32 scale, with a faithful tire tread and hub detail. Decals or a masking stencil for painting the hubs are usually included.

The real subject

The Douglas A-26 Invader was a fast twin-engine attack and bomber aircraft used from the Second World War through to later conflicts. The rugged landing gear and the wheels are among the prominent features of the underside of a model.

Building and painting tips

Wash the wheels free of mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks; bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Many castings have a compressed (weighted) flat that faithfully suggests the weight of the machine on the ground. Paint the tires a matte blackish gray, set the hubs apart and bring them out with light weathering.

Who the set is for

  • Builders of the A-26 Invader model in 1:32
  • Anyone interested in faithful wheels with tread and hub detail
  • Modelers who want a realistic landing gear

It comes as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.

FAQ

Cast main wheels for A-26 Invader models in 1:32 scale as a replacement for the plastic parts, usually with a mask or a decal for the hubs.

Eduard sets tend to be cast with a compressed flat for the impression of the machine's weight; check the exact execution on the packaging.

Cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); classic cement for plastic does not hold on resin.
