This resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Aires serves as a replacement for the wheel bays on a kit of the F-100D Super Sabre aircraft in 1:32 scale. This is not an aircraft model but an accessory for experienced modelers that replaces the often simplified parts from a plastic kit with a faithful resin replica with finely cast detail of the walls, the stiffeners and the runs.
The F-100D Super Sabre was a single-engined supersonic fighter-bomber of the US Air Force of the fifties and sixties, one of the first production machines to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. It was powered by a jet engine with an afterburner. Faithfully rendered wheel bays markedly raise the realism of the landing gear part of a model.
First wash the remains of the mold release agent off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Before painting, a primer and subsequent shading to bring out the detail are advisable.
The set is supplied as a resin accessory for a kit, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
