A turned metal pitot tube for the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter in 1:32 scale by the Polish manufacturer MASTER, an accurate replacement for the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not an aircraft model. The precisely turned brass pitot (air data) tube replaces the soft and dimensionally inaccurate plastic part from an F-104 kit in 1:32 scale. The metal version has more faithful geometry, a sharper tip and stands up to handling far better than injected plastic, which bends or snaps easily.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was an American supersonic interceptor of the late 1950s, famous for its extremely thin short wings and a slim fuselage with a prominent long pitot tube on the nose. It is exactly this striking element of the front of the aircraft that the set reproduces faithfully.
Cut the plastic tube off the model, drill a hole of the matching diameter and glue the metal part in with cyanoacrylate. Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer for better adhesion. The part is small, so work with tweezers and in good light.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
