This is not a kit but a sheet of 3D cockpit decals by Red Fox Studio in 1:32 scale. The set is cut for the Italeri kit. It is prepared for the basic F-104S version, which is not the same as the later modernized ASA-M, so choose according to the machine you are building. The decals have relief and a gloss backing, thanks to which the instrument dials read as glazed.
The F-104S is the Italian single-seat version of the Starfighter, built under license and adapted for all-weather duties. It differs from the American versions in its equipment, which shows in the cabin as well. The later modernized ASA-M version has a different cockpit again and has a separate set at Red Fox Studio.
Before gluing, the raised detail of the instruments is usually sanded off the plastic, and the surface is cleaned and degreased. The pieces are carefully taken off the sheet and transferred to the corresponding place following the procedure the manufacturer gives on the box. No extra gloss varnish is needed. Apply the decals while the cockpit is still accessible.
