A photo-etched Eduard set intended for detailing the interior of the cabin of the F-4D Phantom II aircraft in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory that replaces and completes the parts of a plastic model with fine metal features. Some of the parts come printed in color for immediate use, and some are painted. Eduard is a Czech maker of photo-etch from Obrnice near Most.
The set refines the look of both the pilot's and the weapon systems operator's station: the instrument panels, the side consoles, the levers and other small details that injection-molded plastic cannot capture at the right delicacy. The result is a more realistic cabin, which shows to best advantage with the canopy open.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool or with a razor blade. For gluing metal onto plastic, super glue or a two-part adhesive works well. Paint the unprinted parts in the matching cabin colors. Dry-fit the parts before gluing.
