A 3D decal interior for the McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II fighter and strike aircraft in 1:32 scale from Quinta Studio. It is a colored relief decal of the cockpit — the instrument panels, the side panels and other elements of both crew stations are printed in relief and in full color, so once applied they give the interior realistic depth without painting and without photo-etched parts. The set is made for the plastic kit from Revell (the same tooling also appears under the Academy brand). It is not a model but a detail accessory for more advanced modelers.

The real subject

The F-4E was one of the most widely used versions of the two-seat Phantom II. Compared with the older configurations it received an internal gun and an upgraded radar; it served with a number of air forces around the world and was also used in Vietnam.

How to use the 3D decal

• Cut the individual elements carefully from the carrier sheet.
• Release each element from the backing paper with a brief dip in lukewarm water and slide it into place in the cockpit according to the instructions enclosed; the elements have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on a gloss-painted surface.
• No painting or photo-etched parts are needed — the colors and the instruments are already done.
• Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as they would attack the printed resin. Fit the elements in line with the build sequence of the kit, ideally before closing the fuselage.
