Canopy masks 1:32 F-86D/K Sabre Dog define the cockpit frames of the all-weather interceptor.
Responsibility details are not available.
Stencils for spraying the canopy frames of the single-seat F-86D fighter and its export version, the F-86K. Both modifications share the shape of the cockpit, so one set covers them.
The letter D meant far more than another series. The aircraft received a radar housed in a cone above the air intake, an afterburner was added and above all the machine guns disappeared: in their place a launcher with unguided rockets extended from the belly. The crew was a single pilot, who had to handle both flying and the radar. The K version was created for the European allies and carried gun armament instead of the rocket launcher. The radar cone pushed the cockpit backwards and gave the whole aircraft a different silhouette from the day-fighter Sabre.
Hold the clear part through a cloth; fingerprints show up under the paint like blotches. The glazing of the sliding section is markedly curved, so shape the stencil gradually and press it into the corners with a fingernail. It pays to spray a narrow strip of the interior shade onto the lower edge of the frame first. The strips are fairly thin here, so hold the nozzle square from above rather than at a sharp angle.
If you are planning a natural metal finish, order the work so that the masking goes onto a finished and matured gloss.
