A resin detail set from the Aires company in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a pair of faithful exhaust nozzles for a matching Hornet kit, rendered in the open (spread) position typical of a parked aircraft. The castings bring the fine structure of the petals and the interior.
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is an American twin-engine carrier multirole fighter and attack aircraft of the Navy and the Marine Corps. The C and D versions were powered by F404 turbofans with variable exhaust nozzles whose position changes with the power setting.
Wash the parts to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. The nozzles come into their own once the metallic and scorched shades are painted and the petals are lightly brought out with a wash.
This is an accessory resin set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
