The set from the Czech maker CMK replaces the exhaust stubs of a plastic kit of the Heinkel He 111 bomber in 1:32 scale. Resin castings have sharper edges and finer detail than injection-molded plastic, and on exhausts the suggested openings and the surface texture, which get lost on plastic parts, usually stand out as well. The set is tied to the H-10 and H-11 up to H-16 versions, as the installation of the exhausts on the He 111 differed precisely by version. Before buying we recommend checking the match with your kit; the extent of the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions. The set is designed for the Revell kit.
The Heinkel He 111 was a twin-engine all-metal bomber with the crew in the glazed forward part of the fuselage, introduced in the second half of the 1930s. The most widespread was the H series, powered by Junkers Jumo 211 engines. The individual subversions of this series differed in the type and installation of the engines, in the armament and in the equipment, which was reflected in the shape and the arrangement of the exhaust stubs as well. On a model the exhausts belong among the places exposed to view, right beside the engine nacelles, so swapping them for a finer part shows at first glance.
First wash the resin parts with lukewarm soapy water, so that the residues of mold release agent are removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, not by snapping them. Do the sanding wet and with protection for your airways — resin dust is fine. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); ordinary cement for polystyrene will not hold. For painting, a dark metallic base has proven itself, with rusty and sooty shades of pigments or enamel washes over it and a gentle darkening of the area behind the exhaust outlet.
This is an accessory set, not a standalone model. The plastic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
