A 1:72 decal sheet for the Ilyushin Il-14M airliner in Hungarian markings from HAD models. It is not a kit but an accessory for finishing a model that is already built.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a decal sheet in its own right in 1:72 scale from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models. It is not a kit: the sheet holds waterslide decals with the markings of Hungarian Ilyushin Il-14M airliners and serves to finish a model of this aircraft. The model itself, paints and glue are not part of the package.
The Ilyushin Il-14 is a Soviet twin-engine piston airliner of the first half of the 1950s which followed on from the earlier machines of short and medium routes. The Il-14M version has a lengthened fuselage and a higher carrying capacity. The type was also built under license outside the Soviet Union and spread across the whole of central and eastern Europe, where it was operated by airlines and by military transport units alike. Undemanding operation and the ability to work from airfields of a lower standard made it a type in use over a long period.
First varnish the area where the decal is to go with gloss clear coat; on a matte surface a silvery film appears under a decal. Release the decal in warm water, transfer it to the surface, fine-tune the position with a soft brush and soak the surplus water up. On areas with panel joints, rivets and rounded transitions a softener helps the film draw onto the surface. Once it has dried perfectly, spray the model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish, which blends the decals with their surroundings and protects them from damage.
The package holds decals only. The aircraft model, paints and varnish are not included, unless stated otherwise.
