Responsibility details are not available.
A pre-cut masking set for a model of the twin-engine Heinkel He 219 Uhu night fighter in the A-7 version, drawn for the Revell kit in 1:32 scale. The version is single-sided, so the masks are applied to the outer side of the part.
The framing of the glazing is the most visible piece of work on a large model. Hand-cut tape is hard to lead around a curve and one crooked edge spoils the impression of the whole machine. Pre-cut masks follow the shape of the frames, sit in place first time and save an hour of strain over a magnifier. In 1:32 scale that goes double, because the glazing has a large area and a mistake shows from a distance.
Wash and degrease the part before masking; dust and grease will lift the mask. Pick the masks up with tweezers, lay them in place and press them down with a blunt toothpick, above all around the perimeter. Spray in thin coats so that no ridge builds up under the edge. Lift the mask while the paint is freshly dry; the longer you wait, the more likely the paint will come away with it. Wipe glue residue off with a cotton bud dampened in spirit.
The box holds a masking set. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included, unless stated otherwise.
