An injection-molded plastic model of the anti-tank version Junkers Ju 87G-2 Stuka, nicknamed Kanonenvogel, in 1:32 scale from the Trumpeter brand. The model has a super-detailed engine and cockpit and photo-etched parts; in the large scale the pair of underwing cannon pods that characterize this version stand out above all. The box offers a rich load of external equipment - the cannon pods, bomb racks, weapon containers and auxiliary tanks.
The Ju 87G version was the anti-tank conversion of the Stuka, armed with a pair of 37 mm cannon (Flak 18 / BK 3.7) in pods under the wings. The machines were created by converting airframes of the D-5 version. With this armament the aircraft became an effective tank hunter - it earned the nickname Kanonenvogel, meaning cannon bird, thanks to its devastating fire against armor on the Eastern Front. Because of the great weight of the cannon, the version lost the ability to make a true dive attack and struck rather from a shallow descent.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Assemble the cannon pods and their attachment under the wings carefully - they are the dominant feature of this version. Finish and paint the engine and the cockpit before closing the fuselage; mask the glazing. Apply the camouflage with an airbrush in thin coats and add weathering to match service on the Eastern Front.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
