A plastic kit model of the Japanese fighter aircraft Nakajima Ki-27 Otsu with the Allied code name Nate in 1:32 scale from Special Hobby. The designation Otsu corresponds to the later production version. The model in the large 1:32 scale offers a richly detailed surface and is meant for more experienced modelers who will appreciate building in a large format.
The Ki-27 was the first modern monoplane fighter of the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. It was marked by fixed (non-retracting) landing gear with aerodynamic wheel spats, an open or enclosed cockpit and outstanding agility. It was used, among other places, in the fighting at Khalkhin Gol (Nomonhan) against the Soviet Air Force and in the opening phase of the war in the Pacific, until more modern types replaced it.
We recommend working with thin cement for plastic and dry-fitting the fuselage and the wing before gluing. In the large scale the texture of the skin and the detail of the engine stand out; the fixed landing gear with the wheel spats deserves careful cleaning up. Prepare your own masks for the canopy glazing. Both natural metal schemes and Japanese camouflage are typical; bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
