Ki-61-I 3D printed colored interior 1:32 (Quinta Studio) is a set of three-dimensional decals on backing paper, which brings realistic instrument detail into the cockpit without photo-etch and painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of colored 3D printed decals for the cockpit of the Ki-61-I fighter in 1:32 scale from the maker Quinta Studio. This is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory for models of the Ki-61-I in this scale. The detail is printed in a thick raised layer on a decal film on backing paper and once applied it looks three-dimensional and faithful.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien was a Japanese army fighter of the Second World War, singular among the Japanese types for its liquid-cooled V engine, which gave it a slender, European-looking silhouette; the Allies referred to it by the code name Tony. The Ki-61-I version was the basic production rendering. The broken-up cockpit is a rewarding target for detail for modelers.
The elements have no adhesive layer of their own: the part is cut from the sheet, soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the backing decal paper into place. Sand the surface of the kit smooth beforehand and go over it with gloss (Future, Klear, Tamiya X-22); it is the gloss clear coat that the element holds on, and on broken-up spots a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. The set usually brings the instrument panel, the side panels, the belts and placards.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The model of the aircraft itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
