A printed replacement for the Le Rhône type J rotary engine for models in 1:32, complemented by steel wire for the valve pushrods.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polish brand Lukgraph prints this engine by 3D technology and encloses with it steel wire intended for the valve pushrods. The replacement is meant for cases where a kit offers only a simplified block with no fins and no valve gear. An open nose on a biplane is, after all, a place everyone looks at.
The nine-cylinder rotary was among the most widespread engines of the First World War. The whole crankcase with its cylinders and the propeller rotated around a fixed crankshaft, which solved the cooling without a water circuit but brought a strong gyroscopic torque. The J type was among the more powerful renditions of the series and powered fighters and trainers of French, British and Allied manufacture. Lubrication was handled by castor oil, which was burned off and flew out, so pilots finished their flights with their faces glistening with oil.
First rid the surface of sanding dust and lay down a dark primer. The cylinder fins come out well by gradually brightening the edges with a metallic shade, and the heads will then take a hint of burnt metal. Attach the pushrods from the enclosed wire at the very end, once the engine is seated in the fuselage.
It is a part in its own right with no aircraft, supplied with no finish and no glue.
