A pair of Lewis machine guns in the form designated as Belgian, in 1:32 scale. An accessory for models of aircraft where the weapon is well visible and the plastic part from the kit is not enough for it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lewis is a British light machine gun that came about before the First World War and in its course became one of the most widespread weapons of its class. The infantry form is recognized by the massive cylindrical jacket around the barrel and by the flat pan magazine laid flat above the weapon. The aircraft version usually lacked the jacket, because the cooling was taken care of by the airflow in flight, and carried a magazine of greater capacity. On biplanes the Lewis was used as a flexible weapon of the observer on a rotating ring mount and as a fixed weapon above the upper wing. Belgium was among the users of the Lewis too.
The package contains a pair of machine guns in 1:32 scale in the form that the name designates as Belgian. Check the differences of this form in the documents on the aircraft you are building, or in the manufacturer's instructions for the set.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the fine structure of the barrel and the magazine is kept. Before painting wash and degrease the parts, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. A dark base, a fine wash into the recesses and a light drawing out of the edges with a dry brush suit metal surfaces. The weapon tends to be in view on a finished model, so take care over seating it straight in its mount.
For modelers who build aircraft in 1:32 scale and want to replace the coarser weapon from the kit with a more accurate part, and for building dioramas. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
