This is not a kit but a decal sheet with a wood texture for models in 1:32 scale. It brings the grain of light plywood in the variant the name calls shaded, that is with shading worked directly into the texture. Compared with the basic regular variant, the surface therefore looks more three-dimensional once applied and the modeler does not have to add the shadow afterwards with a glaze or an oil paint.
Wooden surfaces are found above all on aircraft of wooden construction, on fuselage skins, floors, cabin lining, instrument panels and propellers. The shaded variant suits places where depth should be visible and where an even grain would look flat: on larger continuous fuselage areas and on parts that cannot easily be painted in afterwards.
The surface must be smooth, even and glossy; choose a light base shade, because it shows through into the overall impression. Cut the sheet to the shape of the part, soak it in lukewarm water and let it stand until the backing starts to slide freely. Transfer the decal into place, soak up the surplus water and settle the film with a softener so that it follows the shape and does not stay stretched over the detail. Once dry, seal the surface with varnish, semi-gloss for varnished wood and matte for flatter surfaces.
