1:32 MC.202 Folgore is an Eduard painting mask for a model of the Italian Macchi MC.202 Folgore fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting the glazing and details.
Responsibility details are not available.
A pre-cut self-adhesive mask that is applied directly to the clear part of a model. The basic version is meant for the outer side of the glazing. For the same type Eduard also lists a variant designated TFace, which is prepared for the outer and the inner side as well. So if you are building the cockpit closed, or clean frames seen from the outside are enough for you, this basic set is enough.
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore was the most successful Italian fighter of the Second World War. The designer Mario Castoldi started from the airframe of the preceding type with a radial engine and replaced the powerplant with an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 built under license in Italy. The aircraft thus gained an aerodynamically clean pointed nose and performance comparable with its contemporary opponents. Its weak point remained the relatively light armament.
Wash the clear part with lukewarm water and detergent before masking and let it dry. Lift the masks off the sheet with the tip of a scalpel and after sticking them down run a toothpick along the edges, so that they seat even in the corners of the frames. Spray the paint in several thin coats, because a heavy coat will be pushed under the edge and the line will run. Take the mask off while the paint has only just dried, not after several days, when the bond tends to be hard and the paint may tear away. If paint does creep under somewhere, correct the edge with a sharpened wooden stick dipped in thinner, not with a scalpel, so that you do not scratch the clear part.
