A set for spraying the Italian wartime markings on the Macchi MC.202 Folgore in 1:32 scale: the fuselage band and the insignia are created directly in the paint.
Responsibility details are not available.
Stencils with which the markings of the fighter are applied with an airbrush instead of sticking film on. The kit whose shapes they match is named in the designation of the item.
Regia Aeronautica machines can be recognized at first glance: a wide light band runs around the rear fuselage, the underside of the wing carries a circular insignia with a bundle of rods and the vertical tail bears the cross of the House of Savoy. Most of those elements are purely geometric, so even a small deviation from the axis or from the vertical catches the eye at once. That is what makes Italian markings one of the most demanding tasks on a model from this period. The markings also included prominent numbers on the fuselage, by which a machine could be recognized at a distance in the field.
The fuselage band is usually the most demanding part. It is wide, it has to go all the way round and any ripple in the edge runs across a great length where it cannot be missed. Always spray it over a white undercoat, otherwise the shade of the camouflage will push through it and the result will turn gray. Apply the remaining elements only once it has dried completely, so that the edges do not cross. Lift the stencil off at an angle and slowly, never straight up.
