1:32 MC.202 Folgore TFace is a double-sided Eduard painting mask for a model of the Italian MC.202 Folgore fighter in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
Eduard uses the TFace designation for masks prepared for both sides of the glazing. The set therefore provides for masking the outer and the inner side of the clear part. The practical reason is simple: seen from the inside, the cockpit frame shows in the interior color, not in the camouflage shade. When only the outside is masked, either bare clear plastic or the outer shade shows through into the glazing, and on a finished model that is distracting. TFace makes it possible to do this job properly.
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore was an Italian single-seat fighter deployed over North Africa, over Malta and over Italy itself. It came about by re-engining the preceding type with an inverted V12 derived from the Daimler-Benz DB 601, and in the hands of an experienced pilot it was a match for its contemporary opponents. The cockpit has an unusual side panel and a segmented canopy, so masking the frames has a great influence on the final impression the model gives.
Wash and degrease the clear part. First stick on the inner masks and spray the frames from the inside in the interior shade. After drying mask the outside, apply the base and the camouflage coat. Always in several thin coats. Take the mask off while the paint has only just dried. Lift the inner pieces out carefully with flat-jawed tweezers, so that the plastic is not scratched in the narrow places.
