The third numbered item of the line of ground technical personnel of the US Army Air Forces of 1940 to 1945 in 1:32 scale. A pair in a display forms a relationship, a trio already forms an arrangement. By adding a third figure, a space arises between the people that has a shape, and the viewer starts walking around the scene to read it from several sides. It therefore pays to think out where the third figure will go before you glue it down. As a rule it works best off the line joining the first two and with the gaze turned elsewhere.
So that the scene does not come across as a row, vary the distances between the figures. Two close together and a third further away comes across more naturally than even gaps. A different position of the body helps just as much, say someone bent forward against someone standing. When painting, leave small deviations in the shades of the working clothing; a uniform tone on all the pieces is recognized as artificial.
