Responsibility details are not available.
The fourth numbered item of the circle of ground technical personnel of the US Army Air Forces of the period 1940 to 1945, made in 1:32 scale. The higher sequence number hints that the manufacturer extended the circle gradually with further figures. It is made by the Czech brand Black Dog.
In a larger display not every figure is the main one. Beside the central pair by the machine, somebody in the background is needed too, who will fill the dead space by the tail section or at the edge of the base and suggest that the operations carry on outside the frame as well. Such a figure needs less bold colors and a less conspicuous placing. It is not meant to pull attention to itself; it is meant to give the scene an impression of depth and life.
A human figure is irreplaceable for a photograph of a model, because the viewer cannot gauge the size of the machine from a photograph on his own. Place the figure in the same plane of focus as the main object of the shot, therefore, and do not tuck it right at the back, where the blur will swallow it. Looked at close up, it pays to have the work with light on the face and the hands brought to a finish, because it is exactly there that the lens focuses.
