Quickboost 1:32 Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 – air intake

A resin detail set from the Quickboost brand (a line from the maker Aires) in 1:32 scale. It replaces the plastic supercharger air intake on the left side of the fuselage of a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-10 fighter. The resin part has a deeper, faithfully shaped inlet with a realistic wall thickness that injection-molded plastic usually cannot manage.

The real subject

The Bf 109 G-10 was one of the last high-performance versions of this fighter, with the DB 605 engine and a characteristically shaped supercharger air intake.

Use and fitting

• Wash the mold release residue off the part and cut off the casting block.
• It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Pick the inside of the intake out with shading for a sense of depth.
