Art Scale 1:32 Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 and E-7, double-sided masks is a set of pre-cut masks for spraying the canopy framing from both sides. It is not a kit but an accessory for a build.

The set contains masks cut to the outline of the clear parts of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 model in the E-4 and E-7 versions, in 1:32 scale. The model is not included; it is an aid for painting. The cockpit of the Bf 109 E series has an angular divided canopy with a great many straight frames, and it is precisely this kind of glazing that costs the most time to mask by hand. The shapes are cut for the Hobby 2000, Dragon or HGW kits, so they line up with the engraving. The double-sided designation means that the set allows for masking from the outside and from the inside, so the framing can also be sprayed in the interior color.
The real subject
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 E series was a single-engine fighter with a liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine and direct fuel injection. The E-4 version had a modified canopy and changed wing armament, while on the E-7 version a pylon was added under the fuselage for a drop tank or a bomb, which extended the range. Outwardly the two versions differ only in details, so the masking set covers them together.
Wash and degrease the clear part. Lift the masks off the sheet with a point or tweezers and seat them so that the edge lines up with the engraved frame; work the pressure from the center outward so that no air stays under the mask. Press the edges down once more with a toothpick. Spray in thin coats and preferably in several passes. The usual order is the interior color, then the primer and the covering shade of the exterior. Lift the mask once the paint has dried, while it is not yet fully cured, and remove any glue residue with a mild product that will not attack clear plastic.
It is a masking accessory for a build, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
