A resin accessory for a model in the large 1:32 scale. It replaces the simplified plastic part with a casting that captures the chaff and flare dispenser with empty chambers, that is after the load has been fired off. It is an accessory for a build, not a model of the aircraft; the base kit is not included in the package.
The empty version tells a different story on the model from the loaded one: open chambers reveal that the machine is captured after a flight and give room both for shading the interior and for sooting the surrounding surface. The open recesses are at the same time the most difficult part, which injection-molded plastic manages only by suggestion. A resin casting makes it possible to cast the thin partitions and edges cleanly, which could not be drawn out of an injection mold.
After washing off the mold release agent and cutting off the casting block, level the seating surface so that the part sits straight on the fuselage. Glue with cyanoacrylate drop by drop. Paint the inside of the chambers in a darker shade than the surroundings and let it deepen further down, so that the recesses stand off optically. Restrained sooting around the mouths of the chambers can be suggested with a heavily thinned dark paint sprayed from a distance or with a fine pigment; overdoing it does not pay, as an excess of soot does not look credible in 1:32 scale. Finish the detail before gluing the part onto the model.
