Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Japanese A6M2b Zero carrier fighter in the Model 21 version in 1:32 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Tamiya. The large scale allows a richly rendered surface, engine and cockpit. The package includes photo-etched parts (the seat belts, for example), a painting mask and metal landing gear parts. The model is intended to be glued and painted.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero (Allied code name Zeke) was the main Japanese carrier fighter of the early part of the war in the Pacific. The Model 21 version had folding wingtips for operating from aircraft carriers and became famous for exceptional agility and great range, which made the Zero a feared opponent. It was these machines that took part in the attack on Pearl Harbor. They were powered by the Nakajima Sakae 12 radial engine.
On a kit in the large 1:32 scale it pays to give time to the cockpit and the engine before you close them up, because once glued they are harder to reach. Spray the canopy glazing through the masks supplied for clean frames. The folding wingtips can be chosen in the folded or the spread position. Paint with an airbrush over a primed base; the typical finish is light gray, or the dark green upper surfaces of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. Glue the plastic with liquid cement and the transparent parts with canopy cement.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
