P-47D 58th FG over New Guinea 1:32 (HGW)

A set of wet transfers with markings and paint schemes in 1:32 scale from HGW, devoted to P-47D Thunderbolt (Razorback) machines committed in the Pacific with the 58th Fighter Group over New Guinea. The transfers are printed without a carrier film, so once dry they merge with the surface and do not create the glossy edge of an ordinary decal. This is a set of markings, not a model.

The real subject

The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt was a massive American fighter powered by a radial engine, which proved itself as both an escort and a ground-attack fighter. In the Pacific area, units operated over New Guinea in demanding tropical conditions, which is reflected in the characteristic wear and markings of the machines.

Use

• cut the motif out and dip it in water for a few seconds
• lift the transfer off the paper backing and place it on a cleaned, smooth and preferably gloss surface
• press it down gently, blot the surplus water away and let it dry thoroughly, then varnish over it
