A resin replacement part, not a model. This resin set from the Czech brand Quickboost (Aires) in 1:32 scale holds the underwing pylons for the American P-51D Mustang fighter. It is an easily fitted resin detail that replaces the plastic parts from the box and sharpens up both the shape and the breakdown of the pylons. It is supplied unpainted and without a model of the airplane.
On the P-51D Mustang the underwing pylons carried drop tanks or bombs, which lengthened the range of the machine and widened its offensive options on bomber escort as well as on attacks against ground targets. Precisely shaped resin pylons with sharper detail look more faithful on a finished model than the production plastic parts, and they are a rewarding target for washes and chipped paint.
First wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the mating surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and try the position dry beforehand. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush works well for the base shade, followed by a wash into the engraved lines and fine chipping effects.
The part is supplied unpainted as a resin casting. Glue, paints and the model of the airplane are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
